Mount Pocono Borough’s Youth Mentoring Program is a Junior Council-style leadership opportunity for regional students in grades 7 to 12. The program runs May through November with monthly one-hour sessions held in coordination with Borough Council meetings. Students participate in mentor-led leadership and goal-setting activities, career exploration, team-building, and civic learning about how local and state government work, including guest speakers such as public safety, economic development, and elected officials. Students may also attend Council meetings to observe and share youth perspective, and participants who complete the program receive a certificate of completion and program documentation for future opportunities.
